INCI Name: Equisetum aruense

Also known as: Bottle brush, Scouring rush, & Shave grass.

Has a high silica content and so may help maintain bone mass for those with osteoporosis, and to help strenghten brittle nails.
Often used in conjunction with Coltsfoot in haircare products. It helps to normalize an d ba lance the skin and scalp. Has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
May possibly be useful in a compress to help wounds and has some diuretic action.
Absorbs small amounts of gold from the soil and so may have a beneficial effect for those with rheumatoid arthritis.
